Neodio TMA

Neodio TMA

TMA (The Minimalist Amplifier) – For those who want the best for a long time!

Progress has many faces. On the one hand, there’s the triumph of technology, with products that are increasingly complex and infinitely renewable. On the other hand, more reasoned consumption, mindful of natural resources and based on long-lasting products.

The TMA integrated amplifier is the first electronic product to be part of the Blue Program. In line with Neodioi’s personal values, it now offers products that are still high-performance, but more affordable and even more sustainable.

In developing the TMA, every effort has been made to ensure that the product is as durable as possible. It is guaranteed for 10 years to the first owner, and has been designed to be easily repairable and upgradable in the future. The TMA is a product designed to stand the test of time.

To achieve this, Neodio has simplified everything that could be simplified, and gone back to the essence of what an amplifier should be: a faithful music machine, capable of satisfying its owner for many years to come. It has no remote control or display. Just a switch, 1 source selector and a volume control. This minimalist approach allows us to focus on design quality, build quality and sound performance.

Design quality is based on 20 years’ cumulative experience in the development of amplifiers, digital sources, cables and accessories. It took 3 years to develop this product, from the initial idea to the production of the first series. Behind the apparent simplicity of the TMA lie many essential details in the electronics, mechanics and wiring.

The quality of our manufacturing relies on the French and European subcontractors, chosen for the care they take in their work. Mechanical parts, the electronic board, assembly and packaging are all made in France. The transformer is made in Spain.

Implementation
The TMA doesn’t overdo it; it gets it right. The power supply uses a low-noise, low-loss 300VA toroidal transformer followed by several rectifier bridges and capacitive filtering totaling 44,000uF, a very comfortable value for a 2X80W amplifier. It uses only Vishay 105°C capacitors.
The chassis is welded for rigidity, and features a non-conductive 6mm PMMA rear panel. This provides mechanical decoupling and reduces electrical coupling between the various connectors (mains – HP – inputs). The chassis rests on 3 machined Delrin feet, another important detail. The 2 rotary knobs are machined from solid aluminum. On the scales, the TMA weighs a respectable but not outrageous 14kg.
The PCB layout is deliberately “airy” to make it easier to read and repair in the future. An experienced technician, even without the electronic schematic, should be able to repair this amplifier in 30 years’ time.

Hegel H600

Hegel H600

Hegel launched the H590 five years ago. They had never made an integrated amplifier at this level before. However, the combination of stellar performance and convenience made it an instant success, the reception from reviewers and customers was overwhelming.

Finally, after three years of development, Hegel is ready to present H600, the H590’s heir. With a host of new features, a new chassis design, a new DAC, an improved amplifier section, and a vastly superior streaming engine, the H600 is a true powerhouse that should cover all audiophile needs and wants.

With its 303 watts in 8 ohms, a damping factor of 4000, and 2 ohms drive capability, this powerhouse of an amplifier can drive any speaker with confidence and ease. The amplifier is a dual mono design, bringing it as close as possible to the performance of two mono amps in a single box. It also boasts a state-of-the-art preamplifier with the extremely precise volume attenuator found in our reference P30A amplifier. All electronic circuitry is designed in-house, and use the best-quality components. This gives unprecedented control over the amplification process. When Hegel combines this with SoundEngine2 correction technology, we are left with an audio signal that is as close to the original recording as possible. The result is an immensely wide and deep soundstage with incredible dynamic range and tremendous bass control. This amplifier reveals all the details and nuances in the music. All you have to do is connect a pair of really good speakers of your choice.

The H600’s D/A Converter is a bit-perfect design, offering pure audio fidelity without any resampling or upsampling. The DAC has a large, dedicated power supply that ensures uncontaminated and stable performance, and it is shielded by a thick steel plate so there is no interference from other electronics inside the amplifier. The result is a cutting-edge D/A converter with incredible resolution and smoothness.

The chassis is made of aluminium for better audio performance. It includes a solid bottom chassis and top cover with vents milled in two layers for added rigidity and airflow. Big aluminium feet with an anti-scratch design ensure excellent stability and reduced vibrations, while high-quality RCA connectors and optimized positioning of the analog and digital connectors provide less noise and better channel separation. The large control knobs are equipped with touch control, making this amplifier effortless and intuitive to operate. They also have a very nice tactile feel, making every adjustment a delight.

The H600 features a comprehensive list of streaming options. It supports UPnP streaming, Spotify Connect, Airplay 2, Tidal Connect, and Roon Ready (pending). This is however only the beginning. This highly advanced streaming engine will ensure the amplifier is always up to date with the latest options for you to stream your music.

The H600 is also highly customizable to ensure it suits any environment. All digital inputs except USB have signal sense. This means that any device connected to these inputs can wake the amplifier and set it to the right input. In addition, the volume can be limited so that it suits your max volume preference. With our remote-control feature, you can program the amplifier to be commanded by common TV remotes, eliminating the need for using two remotes and making it easier for all members of the household to get great TV sound. Most inputs can also be set as a fixed high-level Home Theater input, making it easy to combine the H600 with surround receivers or multi-room devices. As with streaming, more features will be available in the future. These firmware updates are of course always free, and the amplifier will install them automatically when they are launched, ensuring your H600 is always up to date.

The amplifier boasts a large array of analog and digital connections to accommodate various audio sources. There are two pairs of True Balanced XLR inputs and two pairs of RCA inputs. On the digital front, it features a LAN network port, an USB 32/384 input (supporting DSD256/DoP), three optical inputs, a coaxial input, and a BNC true 75-ohm input. For analog outputs, it offers a pair of RCA fixed-level outputs and a pair of RCA variable-level outputs. Additionally, it provides a BNC fixed-level true 75-ohm digital output.

The H600 is an extremely capable and great-sounding amplifier.  It is highly versatile and delivers high-end sound and ease of use, all in a high-quality and minimalistic housing that fits any interior style. The H600 is a hub for your digital music, a home for all your connected sources, with a sound suitable for mansions.

CH Precision P10

CH Precision P10

Following the introduction of the L10 and M10 amplifiers, CH Precision is proud to announce the release of the partnering phono-stage, the new P10. Our original P1 phono-stage has long been recognised as THE benchmark for phono performance, by reviewers and end-users alike. But as impressive (and impressively versatile) as the P1 undoubtedly is, the P10 represents a whole new level of sophistication and musical reproduction.

  • Two-box product with massive, dedicated power supply and ultra low noise-floor.
  • All-new circuit with three separate gain stages to reduce noise.
  • Two-stage passive EQ.
  • Four independently configurable XLR/RCA phono inputs:
  • Two trans-impedance current sensing MC inputs.
  • Two conventional, fully discrete, voltage sensing MC/MM inputs.
  • Higher gain and finer gain adjustment (3dB steps rather than 5dB) on all inputs.
  • User selectable local/global feedback.
  • Unprecedented range of loading options on voltage inputs.
  • Seven optional EQ curves for EMI, Columbia (LP), Decca (London), Teldec (DGG), NARTB/NAB, Capitol (AES) and Philips.
  • Improved user interface, including handy IR remote control for all main functions.
  • Improved cartridge gain/loading wizard to aid set up.

The P10 might be an analog component, but the numbers tell the tale: a noise floor that’s 5dB lower than the already ghostly quiet P1; 45 to 78dB of gain in 3dB steps (that’s 8dB more than the P1); four independent phono inputs and as many as eight different record replay EQ curves. Throw in the remotely selectable Neumann pole for all EQ curves, local/global feedback, stereo/mono switching and high-pass filter and you have one of the user-friendliest phono-stages available.

Of course, the P10 incorporates the improved mechanical grounding system employed on the other 10 Series products and is available in the same choice of three different finishes. But add to that the choice of balanced (XLR) or single-ended (RCA) connections for all inputs: the provision of balanced (XLR) and single-ended (RCA and 50Ω BNC) outputs; the option of current-sensing (trans-inductance) or voltage sensing MM/MC inputs, with the unprecedented loading options available for the latter; the opportunity to double up to a full, four-box P10 True Monaural and you also have one of the most versatile, able to bring out the best from almost any cartridge and match any system.

But the icing on the cake is the performance. The performance that’s captured on the record you are playing. The L10 and M10 broke new ground when it came to system matching, natural musical reproduction and communication, bringing listeners closer to the original event than ever before. The P10 delivers the same advantages, but it delivers them that much closer to the front of the system, so that you enjoy the benefits at every stage thereafter. Records have never sounded so like life, you’ve never been able to get so close to the original performers or their performance. Just when audiophiles were beginning to think it was safe to rely on digital sources, the P10 has elevated record replay to a whole new high.
