Lumin Releases the N1 Network Switch

by | September 2026

In addition to its network drives and storage devices (read our review of the U2x; VU#67 FR) –which also include a line of hubs such as the P1 mini and P2– Lumin has released a device in recent years designed both to store files (NAS) and optimize network traffic (switch).

From this L2 model, the Hong Kong-based manufacturer has now isolated the switch component, redesigning and upgrading it to offer no fewer than 6 RJ45 Ethernet ports (1000BASE-T) and 4 SFP fiber ports. The aluminum chassis, based on those of the D3 and U2 Mini with their rectangular front panels, houses a very low-noise linear power supply based on a shielded Talema toroidal transformer.

To resynchronize digital signals from the network –or even synchronize them with those from the streamer and DAC– a 10 MHz, 50-ohm BNC clock port is also available. A ground terminal completes the rear panel, while the front panel remains button-free, with only two LEDs visible to indicate whether the internal or external clock is selected.

In terms of price, the Lumin N1 is priced the same as the Dela S50, at 3 500 and is available in either gray or black. We will tell you more as soon as we have compared them!
