JPLAY introduces support for the UPnP Eventing protocol, enabling full bidirectional control between the iOS app and Grimm Audio’s MU1 and MU2 audio players.
With this development, Grimm joins the “JPLAY Certified” circle, which already includes 3D-Lab, Atoll, TotalDac, Hegel, EverSolo, Bryston, and dCS. Thanks to this partnership, the Dutch manufacturer’s MU1 and MU2 network players ensure better integration and optimal sound quality with the app.
This certification comes with a significant technical advancement, as the new version 1.4.3 of JPLAY adds support for UPnP Eventing technology, developed in close collaboration with the Grimm Audio team. Thanks to this, Grimm Audio’s MU1 and MU2 can now be synchronized bidirectionally: you can start and stop the MU1/MU2 from within JPLAY, but you can also start and stop JPLAY from the player itself using its main button or IR remote control.
In addition to Eventing, update 1.4.3 also introduces direct playback from the disc for HQPlayer and MinimServer configurations, improved HQPlayer playback, new Queue Radio modes, and a series of bug fixes and performance improvements. This update is available now for current users and is included in the app version priced at $49.99 per year or $199 for a lifetime license, available for download from the App Store.
